We believe that all of our learners are entitled to the very best education, including careers guidance, through a developed, personalised curriculum, delivered by highly experienced and qualified staff.
In January 2018 The Gatsby Charitable Foundation established eight world class benchmarks. At The Kassia Academy we adhere to them in order to develop and improve our careers provision and provide the best life chances for our learners.
1. A stable careers programme
2. Learning from career and labour market information
3. Addressing the needs of each student
4. Linking curriculum learning to careers
5. Encounters with employers and employees
6. Experience of workplaces
7. Encounters with further and higher education
8. Personal Guidance
Our aim is to ensure every child receives advice and guidance so that they are inspired and motivated to achieve the best that they can. We will deliver a high quality careers programme, linking careers into our curriculum and also through one to one sessions with our in-house careers lead.
We aim to inspire young people through real life experiences in the world of work and also encounters with local employers. As part of our Careers Programme, learners have the opportunity to attend open events and organised careers fairs to enable them to make an informed choice post 16.
All young people in England are required to continue in education or training until at least their 18th birthday. This includes, full time study in a school, college or training provider, an apprenticeship, traineeship or supported internship and full time work or volunteering (20 hours or more) combined with part time accredited study.
